About

My name is Irene Song

Hi, I’m Irene—a strategist, researcher, and visual storyteller passionate about bridging public health, marketing, and art. My journey has taken me from hands-on fieldwork in global health initiatives to crafting brand narratives and visual content that spark engagement. I believe that impactful storytelling—whether through data, design, or strategy—has the power to drive meaningful change.

One fun fact about me? I have a sixth sense for aesthetics—whether it’s curating the perfect outfit, capturing the perfect vibes in a photo, or spotting the most aesthetic café in any city within minutes! 😆✨

More About Me

I am defined by many things—a 21-year-old dreamer, thinker, and creative at heart. Born and raised in South Korea, I’ve also lived and studied in Canada and the U.S., which has shaped my multicultural perspective on the world. Whether navigating different cultures or blending disciplines, I thrive at the intersection of diverse experiences.

My Journey So Far

I began my academic career at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, where I studied Global Public Health & Nursing. Through my studies and hands-on experiences—from leading hygiene education workshops in Tanzania to working on infectious disease prediction models in Burkina Faso—I realized my passion extends beyond clinical practice. I’m drawn to the bigger picture: public health policies, systemic change, and the social determinants that shape health outcomes.

Now, I’m pivoting toward public health, public policy, and sociology, aiming to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact. My goal? To contribute to shaping policies that make healthcare more equitable, accessible, and human-centered.

A Creative Mind at Heart

Beyond academia and career aspirations, I express myself through visual art—whether it’s digital illustrations, photography, or aesthetic-driven creative projects. I love capturing emotions, moments, and abstract ideas in a way that speaks to people beyond words.

A Few Fun Facts About Me

🌎 I’m a third-culture kid who feels equally at home in Seoul, New York, or Vancouver.

🎨 I live for aesthetics and good vibes—from fashion and beauty to interior design and visual storytelling.

👗 My closet is color-coordinated because fashion is self-expression.

📖 I can spend hours in bookstores, collecting more books than I can possibly read.

💡 I find beauty in the details—whether it’s the perfect shade of blue in a painting or the way city lights reflect on rainy streets.

Ultimately, I’m here to learn, create, and leave an impact—whether through public health, policy, or the art I make along the way.
